ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Lenoir-Rhyne Percussion Program is a
unique community program designed for the development of young percussionists in
the Piedmont area of North Carolina. Area band directors and music
educators encourage the involvement of their students in such programs as a tool
for strengthening basic skills in the major areas of percussion: snare,
timpani, auxiliary percussion, keyboard percussion, and hand percussion.
Students are guided by a well-trained and well-experienced teaching staff.
Our facilities at Lenoir-Rhyne College are excellent. We have a nice
rehearsal hall and several practice rooms equipped with percussion instruments
We accept percussionists at all ages and levels: beginner, middle school, high school, college, and from the community.
When you join the LRPP, you have an opportunity to meet and work with percussionists from all over the local area. When you leave the LRPP you will have attained the skills needed for the post-high school challenges as a musician, and will have fulfilled an exciting experience and enrichment.

TOURS & FUNDRAISERS
|
|
Yearly performances and tours are great fun and they help to build friendships among the members of the program as everyone works together. |
| Occasional fundraisers may consist of bake sales, games, drum products and more. Pictured here is one of our fundraisers called "Drum-A-Thon" in which we raised thousands of dollars for the NC Day of Percussion. The kids played non stop for 4 hours in the hot sun of this shopping center parking lot after getting sponsors to pay them per minute. Over 40 kids participated in the event. |
